Thank you, Stickney residents, for eight fantastic years of races. As of this time, it looks like we will have to find a new home for our Run for Hope 5K. In the eight years you hosted us, you helped us raise over $100,000 which we donated to breast cancer awareness organizations in the fight against breast cancer. When we have found a new location to hold our race, we will announce it here and on our social media pages. In the meantime, thank you again for your generosity and enthusiasm in cheering us on and joining us in running and walking.
We have posted all of the race photos from our 2021 Run for Hope 5K. Click on the Race Galleries menu option and choose 2021 Race Gallery. And remember, our rapid-fire finish line photos make great animated GIFs. 🙂
If you took part in today’s 8th Annual Lions Run for Hope, race results are available online here: https://results.itsracetime.com/results.aspx?CId=17095&RId=6256
Congratulations to all participants. We will post another update when we have the race photos available online.
Putting on an event like this would not be possible without the support of our sponsors. We would like to thank all our 2021 race sponsors and ask you to thank and support them, as well.

Eight years ago, one of our members was diagnosed with breast cancer. As a club, we chose to support her endeavors, with the Lions Run for Hope, a Charity 5K Run/Walk fundraiser, which will take place this year on Sunday, September 26th. Our goal is to celebrate the survivors, encourage and support those currently fighting, help find a cure and support the Wellness House, which assists families dealing with all cancers. In the past seven years, we raised and donated over $45,000. All funds were distributed equally to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and the Wellness House. If you are unable to take part in the 5K this year, but would still like to support our cause, you can use this link and make a donation. Thank you. ? #SFVLions #WeServe #BeatCancer
We still have 34 race awards that need to be picked up. If you took part in the 2020 Lions Run for Hope 5K, please check the category results page to see if you won an age group award. Due to the pandemic, the Stickney-Forest View Public Library District will not be letting people in the building, but you can still pick up your award using curbside pickup. Call 708-749-1050 to let them know when you would be coming.
Due to a WordPress technical glitch it looked like all of our race photos had uploaded, but if you clicked on a thumbnail it probably didn’t work. But that glitch has been corrected, so we hope you check out the 2020 Race Gallery of photos. Also, our rapid-fire finish line photographs make great animated GIFs.
The 2020 Race Gallery has been added to the race website. Select it from the menu to view all the race photos.
The age group awards are available for pick-up at the Stickney-Forest View Public Library, located at 6800 W. 43rd Street in Stickney, Illinois. Please call (708) 749-1050 to schedule a time to pick up your award so we don’t have a large number of people arriving at the same time. You must wear a mask to pick up your award at the Library.
We are gathering all the 2020 race photos and will have them posted to the website soon. We will announce it on our Facebook page when they are posted, too. Thanks again for coming out!
Thank you to everyone who came out to day’s Lions Run for Hope 5K. You can use this link to find your race time or to log your virtual 5K race time.
